What is considered a heavy smoker
Clearly, still a heavy user.Once a month = infrequent.Once a week = frequent.I was shocked to learn that there are actually a fair number of these.Heavy smokers constituted 26.7% of all cigarette smokers.
I've seen 3/week listed as heavy but it sounds light to me.A heavy smoker is one who cannot focus on things properly/or thinks he/she cannot, till he takes a drag from that fag.Only on weekends (3+ times per day) = moderate. They say it takes light smokers about 1 year to develop as much lung damage as heavy smoking does in 9 months. An average smoker falls in between.
Doesn't have much to do with quantity as much as frequency.People that are sick, say with cancer, can catch a cold and get considerably worse. It's fairly regular smoking, though a chain smoker could easily smoke one hundred cigarettes in a day. Some detox kits come with drug test kits so you can verify that it is effective before the big day.A heavy smoker is one who always carries a pack of smokes with him/her, even if he/she is going to a funeral.
For others it could be a lot more. The earlier you start smoking, the harder it will be to quit.
